Appeasement in name of 'Secularism' must STOP!

The incident that took place in Jamshedpur, in the state of Jharkhand; Jamshedpur formerly an integral part of Bihar was considered to be the most progressive part of that Bihar where the population was considered to be very diverse & cosmopolitan as compared to the other varied section of Bihar, hence the apathy.

The now Jamshedpur, the most industrial hub of a manufacturing and automotive industries had a complaint lodged against a poor fruit-vendor for displaying a banner that had the word 'HINDU' written on it. Feel sorry to convey, how the people those who follow  Hinduism are being targetted, merely to appease a particular section of the society, needless to mention here that particular section of the society.

The SSP, handling the case said, "no one is allowed to fix a signboard or banner at one's shop by indicating such communal term". One thing here which is hard for me to understand is, how can the word 'HINDU' be communal? We, all come across various restaurants/shops/establishments with a specific word mentioned 'MUSLIM' displayed, but, nowhere these restaurants/shops/establishments are ever asked to remove this word citing 'SECULARISM'.

Banner in front of a shop with "विश्व हिन्दू परिषद् कि अनुमोदित हिन्दू फल दुकान" written on it, which means "Hindu Fruit shop approved by VHP."

As correctly pointed out by Dr Sambit Patra (BJP, national spokesperson), that, this is not a case of secularism, but, a pure form of human partiality. Which is again a straight violation of Article 19 & 25 to the constitution of India. The legends have it proved, that the word 'Hindu' was used by many leaders in the past, now this word suddenly proves a danger to secularism. Time and again, even at the sacred temple of democracy - The Parliament, has witnessed the use of word 'Hindu'. The constitution of India too has quoted the name of several religions, among it also the religion 'Hindu', as and when the need has arisen. Here, I fail to understand, why at those references the mentioned word 'Hindu' were not considered to be communal, but, by displaying a banner, it is being considered as communal?

The great Swami Vivekananda at his address to the World Parliament of Religions in Chicago said,

I'm proud to belong to a religion that has taught the world both tolerance and universal acceptance. We believe not only in universal toleration, but we accept all religions as true.

It is a fact that we Hindus are the most tolerant ones. We accepted the Persians, we accepted Islam when the Mughals came, again we accepted Christianity when the Britishers came. Now, here some would also contradict this, by commenting that the Hindus fought against them. These people should know that we fought for our 'Swaraj' but not against any particular religion/s. Our Vedas have taught us to respect each and every one. We strongly believe in 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam', we consider the world to be one large single-family. Our religion had or rather has never taught us to discriminate people on the basis of any Religion. But this fact should not be considered as our weakness, further not be exploited just for some political gains by the so-called secular political outfit.

Currently off-late, it has become a growing trend to suppress and insult those belonging to Hinduism. The leftist-liberals, the pseudo seculars, some media houses & some Politicians are completely responsible for this. We all have witnessed, how the lobby went silent on the Lynching of two sadhus in Palghar with their accomplice driver but was very outspoken when Tabrez Ansari was lynched. I will never ever advocate Lynching, but referring at a case just with the lens of religion is completely unacceptable. We have seen how this lobby has repeatedly used the word 'Hindu Terrorism' or 'Saffron Terrorism' to defame Hindus along with it the followers of Hinduism. But these people consider 'Radical Islamic Terrorism' to be an un-secular term. Recently we also noticed how these bunch of guys were silent on the Nizamuddin-Markaz incident but started trending #TabligiHeroes on Twitter when some of the Tabligis donated their plasma for Plasma therapy. I don't consider this to be secularism but political selectivism.

#TabligiHeroes was trending on Twitter on  27th April 2020 in India.

The reason why these instances occur, happens is that these people can't digest the fact that Hindus and Muslims can be united as one. Hindus and Muslims can be friends, there's no doubt in that. I remember how a very reputed Newspaper reported an incident as "A Sikh policeman saves a Muslim from an infringed mob." They tried to portray the whole situation as if the Sikh Policeman protected the Muslim man just in the name of secularism but not because he was performing his duty of protecting each and every citizen of this nation irrespective of caste, creed and religion.  The headline could have been "A policeman saves a person from an infringed mob". Some media houses have also played a very big role in creating a Gap between the two communities just for TRP numero uno position.

One has always noticed that these lobbies often target the Bharatiya Janata Party for Gujarat riots and tries to portray it as an un-secular and communal party. But again these lobbies never converse anything in regards to the partition of India, which got killed several lacs of people (from both sides) and several lacs rendered homeless. They never mention about 1984 anti-Sikh riots, a particular community was targetted and they were killed brutally. They even forget to mention anything about an ill-fated Godhra carnage incident where many un-armed and innocent karsevaks were brutally assaulted & some killed.

We must question these lobbies on their this kind of selectivism. Now it's time for them to answer these questions too.

It's high time that we raise our voices against such lobbies, who solely believe that by exploiting us they are only protecting the secular fabric of this nation. We as INDIAN's are united ever no matter what these lobbies wish to express. India was secular in the pre-era of independence, even though we didn't have a constitution and we were totally unaware of the term 'Secular' itself.

'Live and let Live', stop the discrimination against Hindus just for polarisation.

At last, I would like to say that I'm a proud Indian. I'm a Hindu, very proud of my legacy, heritage & its varied culture. No one can stop me from calling myself a 'HINDU'. If you want, you can put me in Jail, but I know that the constitution of this great nation will protect me & my rights!

Jai Hind!

  3. Very well articulated and thought provoking article. The pseudo secular lobby needs to wake up and stop dividing the country in religious biases and focus on humanity, irrespective of caste and class.

Dissenters must for Democracy but we must protect our nation from Pessimists.

Yesterday (12th May 2020) my Prime Minister in his address to the nation announced a stimulus package worth ₹ 20 Lakh Crore (10% of India's GDP) to deal with the economic crisis arisen due to COVID-19 pandemic. By many, this was seen as a masterstroke by the Government to alleviate the current crisis. He further communicated that the details of the package will be given by the Finance Minister in coming days, post the announcement. The Prime Minister in his speech further assured that the package would provide relief to majorly all sectors, be it small or large industries, farmers, MSMEs, etc. etc. As soon as the package was announced the Indian National Congress took no time to criticise the move and straight away disapproved of it. They didn’t even have the patience to wait for the Finance Minister to share details of the package. The Madhya Pradesh Congress committee didn't even wait for the Prime Minister to end his speech and tweeted that '₹ 20 Lakh Crore...
